Unfortunately, a lot of preachers and pastors have bought into this mindset, too. They talk about buying a house and getting people into a "first-time" homebuyer's program (although now in this economy that's kinda-been "hush-hush"), all the while helping to drive many people into debt. They either forget or just don't mention Proverbs 24:27, which says to get "your business" in order and afterwords to build your house. I'm a fan of Dave Ramsey because he's not a fan of Christians being in debt! Society has told us that debt is just a part of every families finances, but I don't buy it. But I'm still in the process of getting out of the debt hole I've dug over more than 20 years. I'm doing the jobrepreneur thing and it's helping.
